This is the privacy policy for Calcy, the electrical field calculator for Android. It is this app's copy of the umbrella Calcy Apps privacy policy, which applies identically to every Calcy app, followed by a GDPR compliance notice.

Scope & disclaimer

Calcy provides electrical calculations for reference only. Its results are not a substitute for professional judgment, applicable electrical codes and standards (e.g. IEC / NEC), manufacturer datasheets, or a licensed electrician / the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Always verify results against local code and datasheets before relying on them. The built-in torch/flashlight feature uses the Android system torch API and does not require the Camera permission or access to the camera itself.

Summary

Calcy is a fully offline calculator. The app does not collect, store off your device, transmit, sell, or share any personal or usage data. It has no internet access, no ads, no analytics, no third-party SDKs, and no user accounts.

What data we collect

None. Calcy does not collect any personal information or personal data from you. Specifically:

Network access

Calcy requests no internet permission and makes no network connections. All calculations run entirely on your device. No data ever leaves your phone through the app.

Information stored on your device

To remember your preferences, Calcy may save a small amount of settings data locally on your device only (using Android's standard app storage). This may include, for example, your chosen units or standard, region, theme (light/dark), and similar preferences.

If you choose a custom brand icon or background, the image you pick is copied into the app's private storage on this device so it can be drawn in the app. It is never transmitted, and removing the image or clearing the app's data deletes it.

Permissions

Calcy requests no permissions that access your data — no internet, camera, microphone, location, storage, or contacts. The torch/flashlight uses the Android system torch API, which does not need the Camera permission. The only entries in the built manifest are internal signature-level guards added automatically by the Android support libraries; they grant no access to anything on your device.

Children's privacy

Calcy is a professional utility tool intended for an adult, professional audience (18+). It is not directed at or designed to appeal to children and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.

Third parties

Calcy contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or data-sharing libraries. No third party receives any information through the app.

Data security

Because Calcy collects no data and transmits nothing off your device, there is no personal data at risk of interception. Any settings the app saves are held in your device's private app storage, protected by the Android operating system.

Your rights

Since we do not collect or hold any of your data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on our servers. You remain in full control: uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes all locally stored settings.

GDPR compliance notice

This notice explains how Calcy relates to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, for users in Switzerland, the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

Controller

Calcy, contactable at officialplaystoredeveloper@gmail.com.

Personal data processed

None. Calcy does not collect, receive, store, or transmit personal data. The app has no network access, so no information about you or your device reaches us or anyone else through it.

Settings kept on your device

Your preferences (such as units, standard, region and theme) and any custom icon or background you choose are kept only in the app's private storage on your device. We cannot access them. They exist solely so the app works the way you set it up, and you can delete them at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.

Legal basis

Because Calcy processes no personal data, no legal basis under Article 6 GDPR is needed.

Recipients and international transfers

None. No data is shared with any recipient, and nothing is transferred outside the EU/EEA or Switzerland, because nothing leaves your device.

Retention

We hold no personal data, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Settings on your device remain until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

Automated decision-making and profiling

None. Calcy calculates results from the values you enter. It does not profile you or make decisions about you within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.

Your rights under the GDPR

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to its processing (Articles 15–22 GDPR). Because we hold no personal data about you, any such request will be answered by confirming that. You can contact us about your rights at any time at the address above.

Complaints

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state where you live or work, or where you believe an infringement took place (Article 77 GDPR). In Switzerland, the competent authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

Google Play

If you install Calcy from Google Play, Google processes information about that download and any purchase under Google's own privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at calcy.ch/privacy/electric (and at the umbrella calcy.ch/privacy) with a revised "Last updated" date.
